七つの村が明治8年に今田村と合併し、龍江村の四区になったそうです。
この七つの村の人々が温かい心を育てる所として、この公園を作ることになったそうです。そして、今から99年前に当地の地主の方々が尊い土地を寄付してくださり、全区民が建設に尽力したとのこと。そして、五年の歳月をかけて大正12年に完成したそうです。
造園当時は宮沢分教場の小運動会や青年会で野菜づくりなどをしていたんだそう。
